Privacy policy
Life Story Memoirs is a small Canadian writing studio. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why we use it, and how to reach us about your information.
Last updated: September 7, 2026
1. What we collect
Depending on your enquiry or project, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, payment and order details, story materials, photographs, interview recordings, transcripts, revision notes, and correspondence. We collect only what is reasonably needed for the work you ask us to do.
2. Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and communicate about a package.
- To schedule interviews, write and edit your memoir, arrange revisions, print and deliver books, and provide support.
- To process payments, prevent misuse, keep business records, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Interview recordings and transcripts are used only to produce your memoir unless you agree otherwise. We do not sell or rent personal information.
3. Service providers
We use Stripe as our payment processor. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy practices; we receive the transaction details needed to confirm and support your order. We may also use ordinary email, calendar, file-storage, transcription, printing, and delivery providers needed to fulfil the project. We share only information needed for that purpose and take reasonable care with confidential story materials.
4. Retention and security
We retain project information for the duration of the project and for as long as reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, dispute, and business-record purposes. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no email or online storage system is completely risk-free. We do not keep recordings longer than needed for the project and legal or record-keeping purposes.
5. Cookies and analytics
This static site uses no required login cookies. If minimal analytics or embedded services are added, they may place limited cookies or similar technologies; we will keep them to what is reasonably necessary and update this policy if their use materially changes.
6. Access and correction
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask a privacy question by emailing support@lifestorymemoirs.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain any legal reason we cannot comply fully.
7. Canadian privacy approach
We aim to handle personal information in a manner consistent with Canadian privacy principles, including meaningful consent, limited collection, appropriate use, safeguards, openness, access, and correction. If you have an unresolved concern, tell us first at support@lifestorymemoirs.com so we can try to address it.
8. Contact
New package enquiries go to sales@lifestorymemoirs.com. Existing clients and privacy requests go to support@lifestorymemoirs.com. We don’t use public contact forms — email keeps your enquiry private and cuts spam.
